Directional Drilling

North Shore Lawnsprinkler now does directional drilling. We have always been a leader in underground technology so the next step was to invest in directional boring. Boring is a way to install both piping and wiring without disturbing the ground. The machine is set up at one end of the drill path and a rod is pushed into the ground towards the opposite end. With this rod in the ground we can now proceed to both drill and push our way through the ground to reach the target area. By pushing the rod we are able to steer it in any direction to avoid trees, utilities, and foundations. During the operation the drill head is continuously located to give us a clear perspective of where it is at all times and to further plan our next move.

With directional drilling we are able to install any direct burial wire, pipe, or sleeve up to 6" in diameter. This can be used to install water lines, gas lines, wiring sleeves, or even electrical service wires.
